PRESS RELEASE: Major Environmental Organization Invests in “1.5 Crew Training Kit” for National Secondary School Environmental Speech Competition

Policy Forum Guyana’s “1.5 Crew Training Kit” initiative has received significant backing, with Recover Guyana acquiring three kits for their upcoming SHOUT competition on June 5th. This initiative aims to address climate change by promoting the 1.5 Degrees Celsius Lifestyle and empowering youth. From November 2023 to April 2024, Policy Forum Guyana engaged approximately 700 students across various schools, providing a comprehensive manual and practical tools like board games, videos, and presentations to foster environmental awareness. The initiative’s objectives include raising awareness, promoting behavioural change, engaging communities, and instilling stewardship values among students, ultimately empowering them to champion environmental conservation.
